17.08.2025 - Transfer, Dambulla Cave Temple and relax day

We arrive at the Colombo Bandaranaike International Airport with our heart full of curiosity into facing new experiences.

We will be picked up from the airport at 5am and transferred to our hotel in Sigiriya. It will be a 3h drive full of local views. With tuktuks roaming the road, with people being everywhere with errands to run - going food shopping or going to work,everyone is going somewhere and there is an organised chaos. 

We have one stop in Dambulla Cave Temple. We are overwhelmed with awe, the Dambulla Cave Temple, officially called Jumbukola Vihara, is the largest and best-preserved complex in Sri Lanka. It is one of the eight UNESCO attractions that Sri Lanka has to offer. After this visit we continue our way our way to the hotel. 

Just don't miss the elephants that might be walking down the street. We are being checked in at the hotel and we have time for ourselves to relax, at the pool, or who has more energy goes to explore the resort or the city around.

18.08.2025 - Sigiriya Rock si Minneriya Safari

 This is our first morning in Sigiriya and what better way to start the day than hiking to the top of the iconic Lion Rock at sunrise? Rising over 200 meters above the jungle, Sigiriya is one of Sri Lanka’s most breathtaking landmarks. Once home to a royal palace in the 5th century, the rock still reveals ancient ruins, frescoes, and stunning panoramic views that make every step worth it.

 After conquering Sigiriya, we take a break at the hotel and we are getting prepared for the wild heart of Sri Lanka for a Minneriya Safari (Optional activity).  Here, nature comes alive. From majestic Asian elephants gathering near the lake during the dry season, to deer, maybe crocodiles, and exotic birds, every moment feels like a real-life documentary. It’s an unforgettable experience that connects you deeply with wildlife and raw nature

19.08.2025 - Transfer Dambulla - Kandy, Spice Garden, Temple of the Buddha's Tooth Relic

After breakfast, we set off toward Kandy, a city rich in spiritual energy and cultural heritage. On the way, we stop at a local spice garden, where we discover Sri Lanka’s famous spices and learn how they’re used in traditional cooking and natural remedies.

Our journey continues to the sacred Temple of the Tooth Relic, one of the most important Buddhist pilgrimage sites in Asia. Dressed respectfully, we step inside surrounded by the scent of incense and soft prayers, feeling the calm and deep spirituality of the place.

After the visit, we admire the temple’s beautiful architecture and colorful offerings before heading to the hotel. The afternoon is yours to relax — unwind by the pool, slow down, and simply enjoy the peaceful rhythm of Sri Lanka

20.08.2025 - Udawatta Kele Sanctuary and tasting the culture in Kandy

Today we explore the cultural side of Kandy. Our first stop is a local jewelry store, where we learn about Sri Lanka’s world-famous sapphires — some of the finest in the world, known for their deep blue color and exceptional clarity.

Next, we escape into nature at Udawatta Kele Sanctuary, a hidden jungle just minutes from the city. We hike along shaded trails surrounded by towering trees and tangled lianas, breathing in the fresh, humid air of the forest. With a bit of luck, we might even spot curious monkeys along the way. It’s a peaceful jungle walk that reconnects us with nature.

We end the day at Kandy Bazaar — a small taste of local life, filled with colorful stalls, spices, street sounds, and everyday energy. The perfect way to experience the real rhythm of the city.

21.08.2025 - Tea plantation and Ella train ride

Today we’re heading into the heart of Sri Lanka’s hill country. After breakfast, we travel by car from Kandy to Nuwara Eliya (around 2–3 hours, depending on traffic), enjoying scenic views of rolling green hills, colorful villages, and endless tea plantations.

Along the way, we stop at a tea plantation to learn how Sri Lanka’s famous Ceylon tea is grown and processed — and of course, to enjoy the fresh mountain aromas.

Optional activity: One of the highlights of the trip is the train journey from Nuwara Eliya to Ella, considered one of the most beautiful train routes in the world. The train winds through misty mountains, deep valleys, lush tea fields, and iconic bridges. Whether you’re watching the scenery through the window or standing by the open door, it feels like stepping into a moving postcard.

We end the day in Ella, where we settle into our accommodation and relax after a long but unforgettable day of travel and breathtaking landscapes.

22.08.2026 - Yala National Park

We leave Ella behind and begin our journey toward the southern coast, a scenic drive of about 2.5 hours. Along the way, the landscapes slowly change  from lush green mountains to warmer tones as we get closer to the ocean.

Our first stop is for the ones who want an unforgettable Yala Safari (Optional activity). We explore one of Sri Lanka’s most famous national parks. Surrounded by wild nature, we keep our eyes open for elephants, crocodiles, exotic birds, and — if luck is on our side — the elusive leopard. It’s an exciting encounter with Sri Lanka’s raw wildlife.

After the safari, we continue toward the Indian Ocean and check in at our beachfront accommodation. The sound of the waves and the ocean breeze welcome us as we finally slow down and relax after an adventurous day.

23.08.2026 - Relaxing day by the beach

Our vacation continues on the shores of the Indian Ocean, with an unforgettable experience on its enchanting beaches. As you relax on the fine sand and hide your feet in it, you feel a deep connection with the essence of life and the beauty of nature that surrounds you. The soft sound of the waves embraces your senses and envelops you in a state of tranquility and contemplation, and the rays of the sun warm your skin and soul.

As you enjoy every moment spent on this paradisiacal beach, you feel grateful for the opportunity to witness the natural beauty and to connect deeply with the environment.

24.08.2026 - Optional day-activity - Mirissa

Along Sri Lanka’s southern coast, every stop feels like a small adventure. We start the day at Mirissa Coconut Tree Hill, one of the most photogenic spots on the island. Tall palm trees, ocean breeze, endless blue views — it’s the kind of place where you just want to slow down, take photos, and enjoy the moment.

A short walk away, Parrot Rock Beach rewards us with beautiful panoramic views over the coastline. It’s an easy climb and totally worth it for the scenery and that relaxed beach vibe. From here, we get a glimpse into local life with a traditional stilt fishing experience, watching fishermen balance gracefully above the water — simple, authentic, and fascinating to see.

Later, we head to Dalawella Beach in Unawatuna, where clear water and gentle waves make it the perfect spot to swim alongside sea turtles in their natural habitat. It’s one of those memories that stays with you long after the trip ends.

We finish the day wandering through the charming streets of Galle Fort, a place full of history, cozy cafés, ocean views, and colorful corners waiting to be discovered. A perfect mix of culture, nature, and laid-back coastal energy.

25.08.2025 - Relaxing day by the beach

Our last day in Sri Lanka is all about relaxing by the beach and soaking up the final moments of island life. We start with the sun, sand, and waves, enjoying fresh tropical fruits and maybe a swim in the turquoise water.

As the day flows, we indulge in seafood by the shore and savor one last traditional Sri Lankan curry, letting the flavors of the island linger. Time slows down, the ocean breeze fills the air, and we simply enjoy these final, magical hours before saying goodbye.

In the evening, we will be transferred to Negombo, either to our accommodation or directly to the airport, depending on everyone’s schedule. We stay overnight in Negombo so we’re ready for our early flight home the next morning.
